Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Ramstein Education Center in Building 2120.

To find our location, please take Autobahn 6 toward Saarbrucken. Remain on the A6 until you reach the "Einsiedlerhoff exit." Exit the Autobahn at the Einsiedlerhoff exit and you will come to a traffic circle at the end of the exit ramp. Take the second exit in the traffic circle, in the direction of Ramstein Air Base. Continue driving straight until the road forks. Veer to the left and this will lead you to the gate leading onto the base.

Parking is available on the left side of Bldg 2120. The UMUC office is located on the 4th floor.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computer lab is located in an education center and is accessible fMon-Fri, 0830-2130; Sat, Sun, 1300-2000.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

Ramstein Air Base is the largest American base in Europe. It is located 16 kilometers from Kaiserslautern. Ramstein Air Base is the home of the 86th Airlift Wing, which supports NATO. It is the headquarters of USAFE and Allied Air Force for Central Europe.

There are numerous dining opportunities available on the Ramstein Air Base to include Chili's restaurant, Burger King, Taco Bell, and more. Lodging is available on a space available basis at the Ramstein Inn and require TDY orders or a letter of employment. On base there are two movie theaters, a bowling alley, two fitness centers, a large base exchange with a Bookmark and many external vendors, and a commissary.
