Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located on the second floor of Building 316.

To find our location, please take Autobahn 1 toward Bitburg. Then take the A60 exit toward Bitburg. From the A60 take the exit for Spangdahlem. At the end of the exit take a right. Stay on this road until you reach a traffic circle, and take the third exit in the traffic circle toward Spangdahlem Air Force base. Enter the Spangdahlem Air Force base through the front gate. Once on base, follow the road until you come to a traffic circle. Take the second exit in the traffic circle. After exiting the traffic circle, Bldg 316 will be the second building on the right side of the road, directly across the street from the covered basketball courts. Minimal parking is provided in a small lot attached to Bldg 316, however more parking is available across the street, next to the basketball courts.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has 14 computers and a laser printer available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computer lab is located in Building 131, room 107 and the lab is accessible Mon-Fri, 0730-2130.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

Spangdahlem Air Force base was established in 1973. Lodging is available on base at the Spangdahlem Air Force Inn and dining facilities include: Pizza Hut, Anthonys Pizza, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, Popeyes, and J.R. Rockers restaurant. In addition a commissary, fitness center, movie theater, bowling alley, base exchange, and shoppette are available on the base.

The small German community located near the Air base, the town of Spangdahlem, is primarily farm-based, however larger cities nearby include Bitburg, home of the Bitburger Bier brewery, Trier, and Koblenz. For additional information, please visit www.spangdahlem.af.mil
