Directions and Parking

The UMUC office is located in the Alconbury Education Center in Building 678.

To find our location, once you have entered the post and passed through the inspection area, drive straight on the prioirty road, Texas Avenue, leading into post. Continue straight down Texas Avenue until you come to a traffic circle, Take the first exit in the traffic circle on to Arizona Avenue (you will see the base chapel in front of you). Continue straight down Arizona Avenue, until you come to the first right turn, and turn right. The Village will be located on the left side. Continue straight down this road and the you will come to the Education Center, located in Bldg 678, on the left side of the street. Parking is available behind Bldg 678, where a sign is posted, or you can continue to the other side of the building where more parking is available on the left side. Both the Education Center and the Library are located in Bldg 678; the UMUC is located to the rear of the base library.

Computer Labs

The UMUC sponsored computer lab has eight computers available for student use. Each computer provides access to the Internet, as well as a word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. The computers are located in an education office on RAF Alconbury. The lab is open Mon-Fri, 0730-1630, and also by appointment.

Testing Services

Placement tests for English and math courses and proctored exams for distance education courses are available through your local UMUC office. Please contact the field representative to schedule an appointment.

Additional Site Information

The tri-base area is made up: RAF Alconbury, RAF Molesworth, and RAF Upwood. The 423 Air Base Group, support units, and recreational facilities are all located on RAF Alconbury. RAF Molesworth is home of the Joint Analysis Center, and RAF Upwood hosts the military clinic. The Alconbury base provides services and recreational facilities, to include: a bowling alley, fitness center, base exchange, Shoppette, barber shop, car rental, gas station, American post office, British post office, Burger King and the Consolidated Club. RAF Molesworth provides a fitness center, barber shop, Shoppette, gas station and American and British post offices.
