UMUC Europe - Refunds

Refunds

On-Site (face-to-face)
Distance Education (online or IL)

On-site (face-to-face)

The refund policy applies to tuition only. Other fees are not refundable. A student who withdraws (drops) from a Europe on-site (face-to-face) course before the first class session will receive a full refund. A student who withdraws after classes begin may be refunded a portion of the tuition as determined by the date of withdrawal.

All withdrawals will be initiated through the MyUMUC student portal. Students may visit their education center for assistance from the UMUC field representative.

Students using tuition assistance must contact their education counselor prior to submitting the withdrawal through MyUMUC or initiating their withdrawal through a UMUC field representative. See MyUMUC Tip.

All refunds will be computed from the date the withdrawal is formally initiated, not from the date of the last class attended, according to the following schedule.

Tuition Refund On-site Refund Schedule (face-to-face)
100% withdrawal initiated before course start date
75% withdrawal initiated within the first 7 days of the course, including the start date
25% withdrawal initiated the 8th through the 14th day of the course, including the start date
0% withdrawal initiated after the 14th day from the course start date

For one-credit weekend seminars, no tuition will be refunded unless the withdrawal is initiated prior to the start date.

PLEASE NOTE: Students must withdraw BEFORE the first day of class to receive a full 100% refund.
All students who withdraw on the first day of class will only receive a partial refund. UMUC Europe understands that it may be necessary for some students to withdraw on the first day of class due to unexpected mission-related reasons. If this occurs, the student should notify the field representative as quickly as possible and provide necessary documentation.

GoArmyEd students must initiate withdrawals through the GoArmyEd portal. The last date to withdraw and receive a full refund along with a refund schedule is listed on the GoArmyEd portal on the class details page of the course schedule for each class.
